Finding America: Cedar Breaks Ski and Zion West

Vanlife, Finding AmericaBruce LComment

May-June

Late Season Snow

2 plus years without making turns on snow. l finally put my ski gear to good use! It was great to finally get back out there.

I was joined by my fellow travelers and friend’s, David and Kay. We would camp at around 10,000 feet for a few days. A short visit to Zion West followed. And yes there was skiing involved!

Drifting.

Cedar Breaks

Located in southern Utah, Cedar Breaks National Monument and Brian Head offer breathtaking landscapes perfect for any photography enthusiast. Cedar Breaks, known as "the miniature Bryce Canyon," boasts stunning red rock formations and vibrant wildflowers, providing endless opportunities for stunning landscape shots. Meanwhile, Brian Head, a charming mountain town nearby, offers a different perspective with its lush forests, tranquil lakes, and diverse wildlife. Both locations provide a rich tapestry of colors and textures that will surely inspire any photographer. AI

Zion West

David and Kay had to make an emergency stop back in Salt Lake City for a solar panel fix. We arranged to meet up at Parowan Gap.

Retina Tear

Meanwhile after getting floaters in my right eye, I decided to check into a Cedar City Ophthalmologist and got laser surgery for a torn retina. Go figure!

Laser surgery upper right.
