Trying to arrange something here not knowing the language very well is a bit challenging. Ruben from Ritual Maya had his own challenges with the car, etc. I don't mind. It's worth the effort! Of course there was a time change I had completely forgotten- it really was a matter of logistics and schedules- not for lack of trying. Or maybe we were using different calendars...
I first met Ritual Maya, during Festival de Cervantino, which if you can imagine the biggest street party ever, you'd be close. But it's much, much more than that.
Going out into the city, exploring different things to photograph, I came across this group setting up to do one of their performances. I had a front row seat.
I connected with Ruben from the group and hoped to meet up again in a location that would help tell their story apart from the crowded streets at a location with a large cave near Cerro de la Bufa. We ended up a series of amazing caves that just happened to be an invigoration 1-2 mile walk about the city and where I was staying. They were shooting a video. All I can say for now is that it involved a professional sports player from Leon, Mexico. I will try to get the finished commercial when available and post a link here. I think it will be amazing!
I shot around the videographer and was excited and honored to be able to finally shoot photos of this group. When I get a chance to edit more, I will post to a page here on my website.

Tratar de arreglar algo aquí sin saber muy bien el idioma es un poco desafiante. Rubén de Ritual Maya tuvo sus propios desafíos con el auto, etc. No me importa. ¡Vale la pena el esfuerzo! Me conecté con Ruben del grupo y esperaba reunirme de nuevo en un lugar que ayudaría a contar su historia aparte de las calles abarrotadas en un lugar con una gran cueva cerca del Cerro de la Bufa. Terminamos una serie de cuevas increíbles que resultó ser una vigorosa caminata de 1-2 millas sobre la ciudad y el lugar donde me estaba quedando. Estaban filmando un video. Todo lo que puedo decir por ahora es que involucró a un jugador profesional de deportes de León, México. Intentaré obtener el comercial terminado cuando esté disponible y publicaré un enlace aquí. ¡Creo que será increíble!
