Exploring the Ruins in the Sedona Area

Sedona never gets old. There are so many places to explore.

This visit was more of a deep dive into remote locations that required careful planning and saved gps tracks to find a way through the overgrown desert paths. I spent most of the month of April exploring the area.

The BLM (The Bureau of Land Management) locations have been limited. But some of the locations were amazingly quiet, beautiful and remote. Most BLM land and National Forests locations allow free camping

Tools of the trade. The gloves were a lifesaver on the hands. Satellite device just as important.

Long pants probably would be worthwhile, but a compromise in the heat.

Part of the adventure is getting there!

Imagine seeing an event that took place that others had actually viewed over 900 years ago!

Route finding challenges

Top of the gulley. It took most of the day to go 2 miles. I couldn’t find a way through the cliff ledges.

The next day I bushwacked up an adjacent gulley and descended and found the upper connection!

The reward was finding more hidden places
