After getting more ideas from the Ranger station and planning out (waiting out weather) at Walmart, I finally got to get back out. Sunny skies, perfect temps and no smoke.

Heather Park via Lake Angeles Trail

Big day, fun day! Perfect weather with views off to the surrounding Pacific Ocean.
The trail comes up from behind the middle ridge. If you enlarge the image, you can just see the steep switchbacks and traverse to regain elevation and the ridgeline where the photo was taken.
