Skyscraper Mountain via Sourdough Ridge and Wonderland Trail Mount Rainier National Park
Length: 7.8 (8.2) mi. • Elevation gain: 1,840 ft. • Route type: Out & back (Loop taken)
This might be one of my favorite trips so far this season. Maybe because of the planning, waiting on weather, but mostly, the view, light and clouds. Not to mention a herd of mountain goats…
I picked a lower trail hoping for the best sunrise views, but as I was returning, it was obvious the higher route would have been the optimum vantage point, Nonetheless, the ultimate vantage point from the summit of Skyscraper Mountain on that day, at that moment left a mark!
