Getting there…
Taking the scenic route: Over Kebler Pass to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison, National Park
This was a surreal experience as sheep herded into the area below where I was boondocking! Loudly bleating- Sheep. Lots off them!

Sometimes a good adventure is one that has it all. Sometimes it’s when it goes sideways. I think it involves some unknown regardless of the planning. The challenge always has rewards even if it’s a one off! (not recommended).
From the top…
Looking down the dirt/scree slope. Steep and loose!
Between route finding in the dirt and scree, to the heat and getting off route ascending, it might have been the toughest mile I have been on.
Arriving at the bottom of the canyon
After resting up from the Tomichi experience I took a morning to check out the views from the overlooks. Nice short walks to experience the canyon from.
