I made my way north and over the Canadian border heading towards Banff. If you don’t already know you will need to fill out an ArrivCAN form among other things like a passport and proof of vaccinations. You can get ArrivCAN from your app store. Fortunately for me, they waved the requirement for one time only. I hadn’t expected how challenging it would be without cell service and limited internet at wi-fi spots.
With limited access to further trip planning and the need to get scheduled service for the van, my stay was shorter than I wanted. With better connectivity, I probably would have added a lot more time exploring the parks. The size of the mountains, glaciers, rivers, etc. and the vastness of the wilderness was just amazing.
Most of my stay was in Canmore, a nearby town which was a lot easier to get around and far less crowded than the town of Banff.
Corey Pass Near Banff
I found this trail in AllTrails which has a great resource out of many to get an idea planning hikes as well as navigation with downloaded maps. It has a big elevation gain- close to 4000 feet in the first 3 miles. But it was worth it with spectacular view especially once you reach the pass.
