Finding America: The Painted Desert Project
I almost passed by this art installation in Cameron, AZ. I’m glad I turned around…
After spending time here taking photos, I learned it was a collaboration initiated by Chip Thomas, a doctor working on the Navajo reservation. In 2012, he invited street artists to take part in a short term residency on the reservation to try produce artwork relevant to the communities. I also met Eric who also stopped in to check out the installation. He saw me taking photos and asked if I could take some of him as well. I have added a few in this blog. Needless to say I was impressed that he asked to be photographed.
