Finding America: Valley of Fire
Valley of Fire, Nevada State Park
On My way west I decided to head south to hit a few more places before going around the Sierras and back north to avoid the heat. (And to hug a tree- or two).
VOF is well worth the visit! Sometimes the smaller places have great features, less people and more accessible. Dramatic landscape and pictographs and petroglyphs… Highly recommend checking it out!
Note: My typical photography routine is to travel light to be able to enjoy hiking, scambling, etc. When possible on shorter days out, I will bring my larger full-frame camera. It’s bulkier and heavier, but the range of detail, etc. makes it worth it. Shorter trips end up being a bit more contemplative and helps give me a bit more rest from longer hiking days. Regardless, it’s easy to push the button- too much and then the edit time increases. I don’t think I will change the routine anytime soon. Shooting more= learning more?
