Perfect spot, perfect time. After almost 3 years on the road, planning, dodging weather, fires, etc. I found myself taking a week + pause after visiting nearby Yosemite National Park off Tioga Road. I had been to this area before and found something about the color, the open space (felt like I had it all to myself- mostly did), the views of the Eastern Sierras with amazing light, and the peaceful nights with occasionally wandering coyote calls, I was happy to call it home!

A short loop that provides a beautiful overlook to Mono Lake. The Panum Crater is a great geologic feature with easy access.
